Sacajawea Fiber Arts Guild welcomes all fiber enthusiasts. Currently members are work on such fine arts crafts as weaving, spinning, felting, dyeing, crochet, knitting, needlework such as cross stitch and embroidery, braiding, basketry, and more. Some of our members even raise fiber animals and process their fiber into roving and yarn!
The Guild is fortunate to have a home base at La Favorites Yarn & Coffee Shop in Kelso, Cowlitz County, southwest Washington.
Founded prior to the 1970’s as Sacajawea Handweavers’ Guild, originally applicants had to submit three hand-woven articles to demonstrate their proficiency in the trade. Nowadays, the emphasis has changed to preserving traditional fiber crafts of all sorts. The broad platform encourages beginners as well as provides a community of crafters at all skill levels.

Each meeting features social time, an educational program, show & share and a raffle, as well as a general business meeting. The Guild is active in community outreach and several times each year members demonstrate their arts at community events such as fairs, libraries, and farmers markets.
Sacajawea Fiber Arts Guild weaves together two threads of opportunities. One is bringing together fiber artists and crafters for camaraderie, ideas, encouragement, and inspiration. The other is to engage with the broader community to educate and invite others to appreciate these traditional skills.
We welcome you to join in the fun!
